A services site or a portfolio doesn’t need to be a single-page application. It needs to load fast, get indexed well and be easy to maintain. That is why I use Astro.
HTML first
Astro generates static HTML pages. The browser and search engines receive the full content from the first byte, without waiting for JavaScript to run before they can see the text.
Islands of interactivity
The components that do need interactivity (a form, a carousel, some tabs) load as independent “islands”, only when needed. The rest of the page ships no JavaScript.
What SEO gains
- Fast pages, with good Core Web Vitals.
- Metadata, sitemap and structured data generated when the site is built.
- Optimized images with fixed dimensions, no layout shifts.
When it is not the best option
If the client needs to edit content every day from a panel, WordPress is still a great option. That is why I work with both and recommend one depending on the case.
